Happy 2016 Imbeauties!
Since it is officially the new year, I thought it was time to show some inspiration using Pantone’s colors of the year: Rose Quartz and Serenity!
Both of these colors make beautiful bridal gowns, and I can’t wait to see some not-white wedding gowns colors become the norm. I’m a little bored with white, can you tell? These looks are for the dramatic bride, but remember many bridal gowns shown in white also come in different colors! Just ask your consultant to pull gowns for you that are available in the color you want.
Look #1: Rose Quartz
This color is perfect for a romantic Spring wedding! Blush has been a popular color for bridal gowns for a few seasons now, but rose quartz is much more universally flattering. We love this sequin gown from La Femme paired with pieces from our DIY Collection. In this pairing feminine rose and sequins are perfectly complemented by metallic spikes. Adding a shot of yellow Swarovski will also make a rosy gown really shine. See? Colorful bridal wear doesn’t have to be intimidating!
Pair this bridal ensemble with a crimson rose bouquet, a beautiful red lip, a loose updo, and white bridesmaids’ dresses (yes, white). You could also have your bridesmaids wear Serenity Blue, but we love the juxtaposition of a colorful bridal ensemble next to a monochromatic bridal party!
Look #2: Serenity
This color lends itself to a much icier look, making it our go-to pick for Winter 2016/17. This color is wonderful when paired with monochromatic silver accessories. We are in love with this Elie Saab gown for its ability to seamlessly marry together the delicate and the dramatic. But really, can Elie Saab ever do any wrong? We don’t think so. We chose silver accessories from the upcoming “Siren” Collection to complement this gown. The subtle sparkle and spiky metallics of these pieces contribute perfectly to the ice-princess ensemble.
Pair this look with some warmer accents, like a rich rose pink bouquet and crimson bridesmaid dresses. This dramatic contrast between warm and cool colors will set the stage for some seriously dynamic photos!
